Please join Paul's family and friends in the hope to relieve some of the stress for Paul's recovery. Thank you all so much!

This letter is about my son. He’s 60, 6’2” and down to 143 pounds. After 5 years of remission, came the words a mother never wants to hear, “It’s Back.”

After the initial shock, I decided to get over my awe of this new fangled thing called the internet, and learn to function on-line, albeit with some trepidation. After all, I’m only 80, how hard could it be?

My concern for my #1 son outweighs all my vows to never venture onto the internet!

Five years ago Paul at 55 was diagnosed with cancer of the neck and jaw. It involved two surgeons, one to take him apart and remove the cancer and the other to put him back together, hopefully, in the proper order.

Then, a year of fighting with Insurance Companies, a hospital that wanted their money yesterday, and a face that would never be the same. But his time, we know what he’s facing. After the surgery comes, the 4 hour drive each way to Birmingham for post surgery appointments and the constant outlay of money for gasoline, prescriptions, doctor visits, visiting nurses, money to care for his family. Not to mention feeding two ravenous young people.

This is such a monumental event that the Colorado part of this family and his brother are packing up and leaving Colorado Springs. My business at a collective and many friends to move close to him, to make his recovery easier. His love and amazing sense of humor will make things a lot easier.

If people reading this have a little extra they could pass on to help, it would be much appreciated.

Beyond this, there’s not much we can do to help, but easing the constant search for money is a great problem solver.
