Help support me and my passion as I travel to Oaxaca, Mexico with Witness for Peace, in order to learn and document the issues of migration, NAFTA, and food sovereignty.

So here's what happened:

I went to France - most of you know the story by interest in food blossomed in a way that I never would have expected, and I had an overwhelming urge to experience food in ways that sometimes go unnoticed. What most of you may not know, is that I have been quietly planning a road trip to Mexico. However, I was stuck on trying to come up with my overall purpose, aside from photographing all of the food in sight of course... That is when I was introduced to a slew of organizations dedicating their efforts to human rights, food sovereignty, fair trade, and sustainability...most of which were focused on Latin American cultures. An opportunity arose - a delegation to Oaxaca, Mexico, where they will be learning about migration issues, food sovereignty, and advocate for fair trade practices - and a photographer was needed - sometimes things just have a way of 'working out'.

So, I am headed to Oaxaca, Mexico July 11 - 24th!

This is certainly not a vacation, however, I do intend to embrace and enjoy the culture around me.

This is completely volunteer, however, I do intend to treat this as if I'm getting paid.

I'm working toward my passion, and building a path toward my new found passions of documenting the issues, and building awareness to the sometimes forgotten stories around our food.

When I return, I plan to spread the images I take widely. They will be donated to Witness For Peace, and I may have a gallery show in the works as well (depending on the outcome).

I would love your support, in fact, in order to make this venture successful - I need your support.

The trip has a price tag of $1,700. That includes food, lodging, transportation, interpreters, and yes, airfare.

My goal is to raise at least $1000, however, I'd be grateful for any additional support!

I've decided to up the ante on 'thank you' gifts to those who donate, because I truly am grateful for any and all support!

As a 'Thank You!':

EVERY donor will be getting a postcard from me with updates on the delegation, and EVERY donor will receive an update when I return with a 5x7 print from the trip.
