The family and friends of Diana Casais are uniting to raise money to help with her Stroke Rehabilitation. Show your support!

Anyone that has come in contact with Diana Casais (Oneida Casais is her legal name), has immediately fallen in love with her. She is truly an amazing individual with a heart of gold. Her faith in god is undeniable, and the amount of love in her heart for her family and friends, cannot be quantified. Diana spends her life helping others in any way she can, and now, it's your turn to help.

Diana suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke on July 12, 2012. The doctors initially said there was a 90% chance of our mother passing away from the complications due to her brain injury, and if she were to survive,  her quality of life would be left in question, BUT our mother is YOUNG, STRONG, AND RESILIENT! With God's help, she has been progressing immensely, proving all the doctors wrong. The doctors cannot explain how she has been able to progress in the manner that she has. She was on a ventilator for 14 days, and a brain catheter for 15 days. They are finally both out and we are now able to hear her beautiful voice!

Although she has been progressing, the left side of her body was significantly affected by the stroke. In order for her to regain any movement, and to return to a somewhat normal life, she needs very aggressive rehabilitation therapy. Unfortunately, our mother's workplace did not provide her with health insurance benefits, so rehabilitation will have to come out of pocket and medicaid will only cover her hospital stay for up to 45 days. The cost of acute rehab is significant, and her family cannot come up with this money in such short notice. We are exhausting all means necessary to make the acute rehab happen for our mother. She does not deserve anything less than a real shot at recuperation.
For stroke patients, rehabilitation is the MOST IMPORTANT factor in returning to some type of normal life.
