The Boston Lebanese community is uniting to support the family of Jennifer Shedid as she undergoes treatment for her injuries from car bomb

As (hopefully) you all know, Beirut was hit by a terrible car bomb the other week, killing 8 people and injuring about 80. One of the severely injured is 10 year-old Jennifer Chedid, who is recovering in the intensive care at a hospital, and needs 300 stitches. Her parents cannot afford the adequate healthcare needed, and this has been a cause that the mainstream media in Lebanon has been covering, as well as many civil society groups there. You can find some more information about this unfortunate incident here:

We know this is very last minute, and it is during midterm week for many, but it is important that we are involved in this. While we are meant to unite the Lebanese student body at Boston University and promote Lebanese culture to break stereotypes that have existed for far too long, it is also our responsibility to be involved in the Lebanese community and help the society that most of us probably hope to be a part of again. I'd like to remind everyone that there is ZERO political motivation behind this effort - only humanitarian. Please take the time to make a small contribution to this cause. It may mean giving up your Starbucks coffee for a day but think of the impact that will have on this girl's life.
