Mary Christi was formally diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Stage 4, on August 8, 2012. There were tests done a few months before which indicated lymphoma was present - possibly non-Hodgkin's follecular lymphoma but the sample of the lymph-node biopsy was too small to diagnose accurately. A PET scan was performed on August 6th and revealed this diagnosis.

I know when a person works for 40 years and has a job when they become sick a support system kicks in; not in my case. For the past 3 years (from 2008 - 2011) I attended my local community college. From there I was lucky enough to be hired at TRG, Inc., Bend Office. There I was, in an environment when a fellow co-worker becomes sick it is looked down upon and frowned against. You can lose your job for being sick. I did. I utilitized the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and in turn expired all given hours. TRG let me go after I was unable to work in April, May and June - they let me go June 22th. My resources are minimal and I currently have $8.00 in my checking account. If I was able to sell anything on eBay I would not be able to afford to ship it to buyer. How ironic, eh?

The few friends I have are computer challenged to perform a digital fundraiser for me; that is why I am doing this myself. I know if they could they would take this bull by the horns for me!

I have just completed 2 rounds of chemotherapy (Treanda) on August 15th & 16th and am being treated with Rituxan for the next 1-1/2 years.  After I have further tests within the next few weeks I will know whether the Treanda worked and if I need more.  The Rituxan will be an ongoing treatment for the next 18 months.

I want to work but am too ill to participate in a 40-hour work week at this time. Hopefully I will be able to work in the near future - this all depends on prognosis and remission.

The donation site has been set up to assist me in my current, urgent living expenses and any amounts that may help pay for my cancer treatments.

I have applied for supplemental security income months ago and the government is "behind" with their decisions due to short staffing.  I don't have a whole lot of time until I am living in the streets. I am 4 months behind in my rent for $475.00 per month and September 1st it will be 5 months.

If you feel comfortable to pay through PayPal I have an account; If you prefer to give through my paypal account you will still receive a tax write-off of any donation of $25.00 or over.

Thank you for listening. I am usually the one to give and this is very hard to ask for help.

God bless and thank you for your support! Mary Christi
