Harley is an Blue Merle Australian Sheppard with a lot to give and a zest for life...Please help us get her stride back.

Harley has a broken knee and needs surgery. She has a will to live that I have not seen in many animals. Her eyes are bright and sparkle with happiness even though we know she is in pain. She is always looking around aware of her surroundings and is very interested in experiencing and seeing what is new. At her last vet visit they took her to the x-ray room on what looked like a serving cart and Harley looked like she was on an amusement ride taking in all the sites. Although her name is Harley her nick-name is Happy Dog because she is all smiles. Harley has a high pain tolerance even the vet said he would not have tolerated what she did during the exam and x-rays.

At this time she can walk to do her business however carrying her outside is helpful to her because the broken leg touches the ground and it is painful for her to walk any great distances. This of course causes a great deal of strain on her other leg. I am keeping her as comfortable as possible with pain meds it’s very important as we try and see what the next steps are for her.

There are a few options at this time for her however the best one so far would be to fix the leg so that she does not place any additional strain on the other leg moving forward. With this surgery she would be able to walk out on her own and lead a normal life. The local vet has given us an idea of what it might cost however UC Davis does great work and the cost is not as high.

There has had been some unforeseen tests, and meds so we have had to increase our goal slightly

If you would prefer to send check please email me at and I will send you my address.

She is a great dog and has been a delightful addition to many people’s lives.

Any amount will do to help me get to the goal; please find it in your heart to help save Harley.
Thank very much
