The Family of Jimmy (James) Nichols are trying to raise money to help with the expenses of traveling to Houston for Cancer treatment

Supporting Jimmy Nichols anyway we can.

For those who know and don't know my brother-in-law, he is extremely lucky to be alive. He survived a near fatal automobile accident in which he was given a very poor prognosis, first he wouldn't survive the first 48 hours, his brain did a 180 twist in his skull. He survived. Next he would never walk again, his hip was split in two and his body rejected the hardware and developed a flesh eating staff infection. After much rehabilitation he walks with a slight limp. Lastly, we were told he would more than likely have permanent brain damage. Again, he beat the odds through rehabilitation.

I was there every step of the way, endless days and countless hours at the hospital with him while my family carried on with life the way they had to in order to allow the time it was needed for me to be by his side. I'll never be able to fully explain what it was like other than I was the only one he would respond to without that he would have been thrown in a corner and left to be the vegetable that we were told he would be.

Jimmy is now faced with a new dilemma, Stage 4 Throat Cancer and he no longer lives within reach. He resides in Texas while the rest of the Family is in California. There has been miserable mishaps along the way and it has taken over a year for him to finally get the medical care that he needs. Jimmy is currently being treated in Texas at M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center, after many trials and tribulations that lasted for more than a year when he was first diagnosed with Stage 1. At this point the prognosis is promising but there is still a lot of work to do and expenses to meet.

The issue at hand is that Jimmy is now no longer able to work, and the job he was with went out of business just as he got the news that he was accepted for treatment. Jimmy lives 3 hours away from the Cancer Center and needs help with travel expenses and the ability to stay at a very inexpensive hotel overnight at he gets his treatments that range from chemo to radiation.
