Family and friends of Luis Araizaga-Torres (19) are raising money to assist in his recovery from his double amputation! Please! We need you!

Luis Araizaga-Torres, at a young age of 19, has had both of his legs amputated after he was hit by a DUI driver. Early in the morning of September 14th, Luis was working on Interstate-264, picking up the cones to go back home. But a DUI driver suddenly crashed into the construction zone, pinning down Luis under a truck for more than an hour and a half. To extract him, emergency personnel amputated one of his legs at the scene of the accident. He was rushed to the ER, where the doctors amputated his other leg. Soon after, Luis was fighting infection in his blood, and doctors were forced to remove one of his knees. Luis is an energetic, young man who has a lot of live for. He loves to run and play soccer, and he has a compassionate heart. But all of that has come to a halt with this accident (except for his compassionate heart!). Luis will need to be in the hospital for some time. He is fighting a lot of pain and faces a long journey ahead of therapy and rehab. With Luis's tragedy, his income is suffering, and the daily expenses are beginning to become a hurdle for his family. Even though Luis is entitled to workmen’s compensation it doesn’t cover everything that a person loses. This is to help Luis’s parents care for him. As his worker's compensation provides only a fraction of his earnings. Luis's mom has left her job to be by her son, which has diminish the family's income even further. We want Luis and his parents to focus on his recovery and not be distracted by the financial challenges they will face. Luis's family is a closely-knit family, and this is such a heartbreaking loss to them. All of your generous contributions, thoughts, and prayers will be of great blessing to us!! Thank you all so much!   Best, Luis's family & friends
