The family and friends of Sarah McMahon are uniting to raise money to help with her battle to fight AML Leukemia. Please show your support.

Sarah had a busy summer of 2011 with getting her boating license, scuba diving certificate and working for Watermark Cruises. She headed back to school the end of August like the rest of her buddies. She dove into the fall play as stage manager, kept working on weekends and was busy with school. She started showing signs of fatigue, nausea and dizzyness. Then the week of homecoming events, seemed to be getting a very bad cold and it kept getting worse. Noticed some bruises but thought it was from theater or work. She got dizzy on Saturday and had to sit on the kitchen floor. I got a bad feeling from this so we went to the doctors. She was told she had a virus and to use a nedi pot and get some rest. So she did since it was a terrible rainy weekend. On Monday, she got up still feeling miserable, but didn't want to miss school, so she started to get herself ready. For some reason I followed her to the bathroom where she turned to me and promptly slunk to the floor. We called the doctor and they said to take her to the ER, which we quickly did. She was checked all over and they took blood for some testing. They came back and said her tests came back wacky and wanted to do it again. That's when the doctor came and said the dreaded words to come in and talk in the consultation room. All the symptoms added up to Leukemia. What, not anemia, or mono or a really bad flu? Sarah's Hopkins Hospital Pediatric Oncology journey had begun. She was diagnosed within 3 hours with AML Leukemia on September 26, 2011. two clinical trials and 3 different types of chemotherapy later, Sarah is still fighting strong against this aggressive disease.
