" Crusade for Sandra" is raising funds for the marrow transplant that is needed to win the war against Sandra's AMl-M5 Leukemia battle.

Crusade means: War, Battle, Fight, Struggle, Campaign and Movement.

Earlier this year, I had also ran this campaign for Sandy Konwerski Taylor for help in “Waging War” against Leukemia, raising awareness and funds. We are here again, and this time your help is needed more than ever…The original story started like this…

Sandra is 34, the wife of Jeff Taylor, a wonderful mother of Jacob 5, & Savannah 2, a sister to Mike & Al, a daughter, sister in law, and friend. But, Sandy is living with a terrible disease, Acute Myeloid Leukemia MS. Unfortunately the previous “Battle” of Chemotherapy treatments have not worked, due to the rare MLL gene.

Here we are once again “Campaigning” asking for your help, except this time We will win the battle. As of Nov. 2010 Sandra was told that she is in need of a bone marrow transplant, without it, she only has a 15% cure rate. Both Mike and Al were not compatible matches. We now have had to look into the national marrow donor bank.

We are asking for donations for the much needed testing that incurs during the processing of possible matches. Health insurance does not cover this process. The medical costs will be up to $10,000.00. Sandy is unable to work and has been receiving chemo treatments until a match can be found. Jeff has been holding his family together as much as possible, working side jobs, taking care of the kids, working his full time job, and taking care of Sandy.

As a community I am asking once again, please join in the “Movement”, the Crusade for Sandra, and help us meet our goals-

On December 4, a benefit is scheduled in Sandy’s hometown community. The place where both she and Jeff grew up and chose to raise their own children in. For all those who can not attend and still would like to help, please make your donation here. For those of you who don’t know her, We thank you for giving from your heart. Please keep Sandy in your daily prayers.

Thank you,
Kathleen (Katie) Holthausen
The Sandra Taylor Foundation

I thank everyone for their support and encouraging words. It’s what gives me strength. I now tell myself that I’m not dying of cancer… just living with it.
Love, Sandra
