This is the Brian East Bone Marrow Transplant Fund. The funds will be used for Brian's medical and related expenses not covered by insurance

In 2007, Brian was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis, which is a rare disease that attacks his blood and bone marrow.

Since his diagnoses, Brian has undergone numerous tests, bone marrow biopsies, and blood transfusions. Currently, Brian is at the Kansas University Hospital. He has undergone chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, more blood transfusions, and a platelet transfusion. He appears to be doing well, and may get to leave the hospital soon, but he will have to stay within 15 minutes of the hospital, because his immune system is very low, so he is vulnerable to illnesses. Since Brian lives an hour away, he will have to stay in Kansas City for the next two months while his immune system strengthens. Then, if all is going well, Brian will be able to go home, but he will have several followups over the next two years.

Before the illness, Brian was full of life. He served our country for 12 years in the United States Marine Corps. He also graduated with an MBA and honors from Bluffton University while working a full-time job. Brian is a wonderful person with a big heart, especially for those who are homeless.

As you can imagine, this unexpected family crises has taken quite a toll on Brian emotionally and financially, and even though we are not out of the woods yet, we have hope that Brian is going to get through this by the grace of God. Thank you all for your donations, support, and most importantly, your prayers. We do believe in miracles, and we pray for one each day.

If you would prefer to mail a check, you may do so in Brian's name and send it to: Brian East, 2916 Commercial Street, Saint Joseph, MO 64503
Thank you and God Bless you.
