THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THIS FUNDRAISER! Because of the high amount of donations still coming in when this fundraiser closed, another one has been started at

Please continue to spread the word. :)

Beth has been making huge improvements recently. She is now awake, fully concious and completely aware of her surroundings. She asks about AJ and has not given up her humor and sarcasm! She's getting stronger by the day and we are so thankful to see her awake and constantly sticking her tongue out at the nurses. We are not out of the woods yet and of course there is a roller coaster of emotion ahead of the Rayas family in the coming months.

Beyond monetary donations here, truly anything will help. Meals (or groceries/premade meals) are still greatly appreciated as the family focuses their time and energy on getting Beth well. If you would like to send a card with your warm wishes, feel free to contact me on facebook under the name Ally Stewart and I can give you more details there. Naturally, I'd like to avoid putting their address on a public webpage.

Continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers; send love and strength their way. Lots of good steps forward, but still very much so in need.

One last thing, I personally would like to thank each person who has already donated to Beth and her family. With the upcoming requirements for Beth's lifelong care, the donations are very welcome. Thank you all for your generosity.

DESCRIPTION: The Rayas family is definitely a worthwhile cause.

Almost two weeks ago, Beth was admitted to a hospital in Parker, Colorado as she went into septic shock. She experienced and continues to battle multiple organ failure--including kidneys and lungs. Even when she makes a full recovery, she will need months of physical therapy to walk and live a normal life again, as she will likely be losing both hands and both feet from the infection. The doctors and nurses expect her to be in the hospital for a couple of months; she is already on a ventilator for respiratory failure, on hemodialysis for acute renal failure, and in a medically induced coma to protect her from the pain her body is dealing with.

Her husband Ed already works very hard to support his special needs child, AJ. His and Beth's other son, Dominic(17), also got a job this summer and their daughter, Amanda (14), just turned her volunteering into a paid job to help support the family. Dom and Amanda both spend a lot of time supporting AJ--he needs to be fed, taken to therapy, and accompanied every night.

They are a very hardworking family that, unfortunately, has been burdened financially with outrageous medical bills. Please help them out as best you can. They definitely deserve it and every little bit counts. The family appreciates your help greatly.
