The family and friends of Kevin Turner are uniting to raise money to help with his battle of liver disease. Every dollar counts!

Today I want to tell you a story about a man who has worked hard his entire life and has always been there for others. He always made time to help family, neighbors and friends with many things, such as fixing a car or home improvements!! He did these things out of the kindness from his heart and never asked for anything in return. Today he is suffering with a disease, that is taking his life from him. He is now unable to work and in desperate need of support. Every dollar counts and our family truly appreciates any help. In the late 90's he was diagnosed with the virus Hep. C, which he most likely inherited from a blood transfusion due to multiple surgeries for his cleft lip/palate.  Spring of 2011 my dad had to have an emergency Triple Bypass, which took him out of work at that time and cost him multiple medical bills.  He recovered quick from that but then again a few months ago, he encountered another surgery to remove his gallbladder.  He has been out of work and has not recovered since this last surgery. Due to multiple surgeries in such a short period with anesethia, his Hep C, and the manipulation of his liver during the gallbladder surgery, his liver has suffered severe damage. All of this has put an extreme hardship on him and my mom. Starting towards the end of Dec., my parents will not have a steady income coming in for any type of bills or food etc.  He will lose his medical coverage through his employer, unless he can pay Cobra.  He has finally been able to go to the Liver Transplant Team at The University of MI, but will no longer be excepted if he can not continue his insurance through Cobra.  I know the Holidays are upon us and times are very hard, BUT isn't that what Christmas is all about??  Giving to those in need. He is a good man, husband, father, friend, and grandfather who has always been there to help anyone in need. Like I said before, every donation counts!!
