Surgery for Josie

I am here asking for help paying for surgery for my 6 month old Newfoundland.

My puppy Josie has a condition called Angular Limb Deformity in her two front legs. Pretty much the joints at her elbows and shoulders are growing at an angle that is not correct. She is in a lot of pain and has a hard time standing or walking. She is on pain medication currently to help her through it.

However, despite Josies pain and joint deformities she is a wonderfully happy puppy. You can tell she is hurting but she doesn't let it stop her from playing and loving on the kids. She will lay down and let my 8 month old daughter crawl on her and love on her and will not move. She is also very protective of the little ones following them and making sure they dont get hurt in anyway. All the kids love her.

Since Josie has come to live with us a few months ago she has become a very loved part of the family like one of our kids. She is loved by everyone who meets her. She will greet each guest with a wagging tail and happy smile.

Very recently I have come into a very unexpected, sudden, and very difficult separation from my husband. Things are hard me on me and my kids ages 8 months, 2 years, 9 years, and 13 years. Josie has been a major staple in helping my children and I get through our hard time as she is a great comfort for us in our time of need. She will sit with the kids if they feel sad or upset and lay with them to comfort them. She is very compasionate and can feel how much we love and need her.

I was a stay at home mom for the last 3 years and am going through physical therapy myself. I am on government assistance until I am able to get back up on my feet. Unfortunately Josie cannot wait that long.

The vet told me that in order for the surgery to be successful it needs to be done ASAP while her bones are still soft and forming, if we wait too long they will not be able to fix her and she may not be able to walk and we would end up having to put her down. To lose her now would be another heartbreaking blow to be added to the already sad and stressful time in the childrens lives.
The total cost is not totally determined at the moment as the vet is still doing x-rays to determine a specific course of action to correct the deformity. They have told me that the cost could start at 1000 dollars per leg.

Any help that could be given would be a god send. Please help my children and I save our beloved Josie and get her the surgery and care she needs.
