The family of Deena Bise are uniting to help with her battle against breast cancer. Your support is desperately needed!

April 21, 2011 my mother began her journey with bilateral lobular breast cancer. The doctor's phone call with the biopsy results would change our lives forever. On May 26, 2011 she underwent a double mastectomy and had a total of 36 lymph nodes removed. The surgeon shared that only 8-10% of those diagnosed with breast cancer have this type and is rare to be in both breasts at the same time which also has a high risk of recurrence. She is currently going through chemotherapy and working closely with a lymphedema specialist to help improve her function and mobility in both of her arms.
It has been very difficult to watch her go through the chemotherapy treatment, which involves severe bone pain, nausea, hair loss, the side effects of the medications , not to mention the emotional roller coaster of dealing with this disease. Chemotherapy will last for at least six months and it has taken a toll due to the aggressiveness of the treatment regimen. All the while she is trying to work and has no disability benefits, health insurance or financial help other than herself. She recently relocated due to employment availability and is trying to establish a support network. My mom has always been self sufficient and now it has become nearly impossible just to keep herself financially above and is at risk of losing all she has worked for. This is very hard to see her go through this devastating illness and very hard to endure.
She is no stranger to challenge and adversity and has always been the pillar of our family, having five kids(not all are grown) she has been our strength for years. She has been my life support due to the fact that at 26 days old I underwent a heart transplant and am now 21yrs old. She has taught me that no one can go through difficult times alone, and that is why I am trying to show my affection, love and support by coming to GiveForward with hope that this will help her to continue to have the strength, hope and courage to battle this dreaded disease and help relieve some of the financial burden associated with loss of work due to illness.
Thank you all for your donations, support, and most of all, your prayers. If you prefer to mail a check, please contact me, Caleb by email: kaylixander@gmail.com. And for more information on Deena's condition contact Kim, klhenry@hughes.net
