Family and Friends of Juan "Gabi" Munoz uniting to raise money help take care of Gabi and his family while recovering from critical injuries

Juan "Gabi" Munoz, age 20 was critically injured with third degree burns over 50% of his body while driving on Route 61 near Leesport, PA on August 22, 2012.

He remains in critical condition in an induced coma in Lehigh Valley Hospital's ICU Burn Unit. He is on a ventilator and received a tracheostomy on August 29.

He has to have surgery every 2 to 3 days to perform skin grafts. Doctors are still deciding if they will need to amputate the fingers on his right hand.

Unfortunately, the family will have many costs including transportation to the hospital, loss of work during the time they spend at the hospital. Juan or "Gabi" as his family calls him will endure a long recovery and rehabiliation and will not be able to work and support himself for a very long time. The family anticipates incredible medical bills over the next few years while he recovers and unfortunately insurance will not cover much of the costs.

Gabi has two younger siblings, Talisha, 14 and Isaac, 8. Gabi is extremely active at his church at Glad Tidings Assembly of God where he serves as a Group Leader for the 7th grade boys. He loves his church. Before the accident he was employed at a local Porshe dealership. He was working towards getting his real estate license.

Thank you for supporting this wonderful boy and his family during this tremendously stressful and unpredictable time in their lives. They have brought so much faith and love into the lives of others. I am so glad we can give back.
