Kupuna Arline Eaton's family and friends are uniting to raise money to help her battle against lung cancer. Please show your support!
She worked for the telephone company for 40 years, and in the public schools for almost 30 years. Of her 70 years of working, her years in the schools was the most enjoyable. She enjoyed those years teaching students from kindergarten to sixth grade. She loves sharing her Hawaiian culture with children and others.
My mother fought breast cancer in 1994 with radiation treatment, but now, at 85 years old she decided against radiation or chemotherapy. Instead, she has chosen a very extensive natural therapy, also expensive, which involves traveling to a neighbor island for treatment. Besides cost of the treatment, which is 3 weeks long, there is also travel expenses, and need of monies for a companion to help at the treatment center. Her companion will most likely be a family member that will have to take off from work. Further more, mom's medical/health insurance does not cover this treatment plan because it is all natural and it does not use conventional Western medicine. Monies will also be needed to maintain her treatment at home when the 3 weeks are over.
She is a living treasure in her community, and she feels she has much to share with others in regards to her Hawaiian culture and especially her religious faith. She wants to beat this cancer because she wants to see her youngest grandson graduate from high school in two years.
Kupuna Arline Eaton is a mother, tutu (grandmother), great grandmother, aunty, and friend. We love her and pray everyday for a miracle. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for your support!
