This is the Debra Crowder Johnson Bone Marrow Transplant Fund. We appreciate your financial blessing and your prayers.

My name is Debra Crowder Johnson and I thank God for you taking the time to read my story. Not only is this my testimony and a solicitation for prayers and support, but this message is intended to glorify God, to let you know that hope, faith, love, and trust is all we have, and God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think according to His power that works within us (Eph. 3:20-21). I do not believe it is by chance that you are reading my story and pray that it will bless your heart, mind, and soul beyond your own belief.

My life was forever changed seven years ago at an age that many consider very young; 43. I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that has frequently caused me to endure severe fatigue, weight loss and a host of other undesirable symptoms. I have undergone chemotherapy treatments on three occasions and recently began my fourth round due to the cancer coming out of remission. My doctors have placed me under an intensive treatment plan that involves a bone marrow transplant after the current three month round of chemotherapy.

Being a former U.S. Military servicewoman, I will have to travel to Seattle, Washington in order to have this much-needed bone marrow transplant. As a condition of the procedure, my bone marrow donor as well as a designated caregiver will have to take this journey to Seattle to accompany me. They will be required to leave their homes and places of work to help make this transplant successful and ensure that I am properly cared for after the procedure.

The length of time anticipated for the trip to Seattle is two to six months. The time will be determined by how well my body responds to the transplant. During this time , my donor and caregiver will have very little to no income for living expenses. Therefore, I am reaching out to you for your support in raising funds for their expenses as well as to cover additional expenses related to my transplant that are not covered by insurance. I am self-employed and have been unable to work steadily since the recurrence of the cancer and the treatments I've undergone. Therefore, I am praying and asking for your help.

No matter the amount: $5, $10, $15, $20, $100,or more, I appreciate you for any help that you can give. any prayer that you send up, and for simply taking the time to walk with me for just a minute on this journey. You are an angel to me and I pray that God blesses you for your kindness.

Though I am highly affected by this condition, I continue to smile through my pain, pray through my struggles, and do all that I can to brighten my days. I know that God is our Healer, our Comforter, and our Provider and He is ABLE. This is my story, but I know that you have one too. Whatever it is that you're going through, it is not bigger than God. Let us trust in Him to make a way for any need that we have and to keep us in His ever-loving arms as we endure.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact my sister Deidre, who is working tirelessly in my place to make this effort a successful one. She can be reached by phone at (919) 332-3934 or by e-mail at innerpeace3@yahoo.com

All of your contributions, thoughts, and prayers are welcome and deeply appreciated.

Thank you all so much,
Debra Johnson and the Crowder/Johnson Family
