Doolittle's Emergency Vet Fund
Doolittle has severe neck wounds and blood loss after an attack from my much larger cat. Please consider helping me with her vet bill.
Anyone who knows me knows that my pets are my life. I'd do anything for them, and I'm diligent about their care. This morning (1/14/14) I woke to my alarm as usual, got up as usual, and that's where normalcy ended. Something twisted in my cat's brain and for whatever reason he lunged at my four-pound chihuahua, grabbed her by the throat and ran with her up the stairs to the attic. I won't describe the sounds she made, but in the unlit attic I couldn't see anything. Somehow she got free and darted past me in a panic and I found her on my bed. She had already bled everywhere and she clearly had a severe wound in her neck.
I rushed her to the emergency vet, where we currently are, and things are very touchy. There wasn't enough blood for a full panel of tests, and the heart murmur she's always had has gotten worse and is a pretty big threat right now. She's at very high risk of heart failure, but I'm really trying to focus on the positives.
Vet care is expensive and emergency vet care even more so. I'm hoping I'm going to be able to go home with my baby still ticking, but there's really no way to know right now. I will be so. Grateful if anyone can help me out with her veterinary costs at all. I'm pretty strapped, as most of us are, but anything will help immensely. Thank you all so much
