Friends of Penni Weldon united to help with the medical cost. We ask for your help to assist the family during this difficult time.

.~~ See Update Below~~

Penni was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma in the fall of 2011. The news came after she battled all summer long with lung and breathing problems. During this time she was in a coma to help with the recovery of her lungs, and weak body. Penni made great strides to get herself healthy enough to walk and eventually return to work.
Work is believe it or not, one of her favorite places to be.
She has been employed at the same Credit Union, for over 25 years, and has established life long friends.

As soon as her fight against the Sarcoma began, it has come to a complete halt. They doctors advise that surgery is not an option due to her weak lungs, and the 2 different types of chemo being administered are not reducing the several tumors in her abdomen and lungs.
Experimental treatments are being discussed as an option, but all medical expenses are piling up.

Penni is married to her best friend, Randy. They have one 18 year old son, Hunter. They reside in Midlothian, Texas. This battle has drained the family both mentally and financially. We would like to do what we can to help alleviate the stress that the mounting bills can cause. Thank you all for your donations, support, and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day.
There is hope4Penni, that is you.

~~Update~~ 4/19/12 Another CT scan confirms that the tumors are enlarged. Doctors are searching for another type of chemo that can help reduce the growth. Please pray that God will give the doctors the knowledge to help our friend with the fight of her life.

~~Update~~ 4/21/12 A big thank you to everyone who is making plans to help with the repairs to the fence at the Weldon home today. (Wood panels have been delivered!) Damage to 3/4 of the fence occured during the Tornado's last spring. Home repairs are something we take for granted when we are well. Mending the fence is a stress reliever for the entire family, and new pup Louie will love being able to go out back and play!

~~Update ~~ 4/24/12 God is good! Approval has come from the doctors and Insurance to have Penni try a new class of cancer drug, Votrient. The FDA, as recent as 3/20/12, approved for patients with the rare form of soft tissue sarcoma cancer, that have been on chemo, to use the drug. Of course this type of treatment is costly. We have prayed for this miracle, and appreciate your continued prayers and support.

~~Update~~ 5/1/12 After close to 28 years, the pain of the cancer has forced Penni to retire from the Credit Union. It was a very difficult decision, but a necessary one in order for Penni to concentrate on getting well. She will be missed by all her fellow employees and long time members. Retirement is not an end, but a beginning, and now time for Penni to begin healing!

~~Update~~ 6/2/12 It has been a month since the big retirement day. Penni is enjoying the life of leisure. She keeps her feet up, and Randy tends to all her needs. Penni has her good and bad days, some are better than others. Doctors continue to monitor her condition and the progession of the tumors. Penni and the family need our prayers and support more than ever! Good news is school is out for the summer, so one less thing to worry about and the family can have plenty of time to hang out to enjoy summer time in Texas!

6/9/12 Wanted to post a quick update in an effort for Penni and the family to recieve as many prayers and support as possible. Penni"s pain has increased and it was decided this week to have Hospice come to take over the day to day care of Penni, thus allowing Randy and Hunter to spend more quality time with her . God continues to work miracles in all our daily lives and we have hope 4 Penni.

It is with great sorrow that I have to report that Penni
lost the battle against the dreaded sarcoma. She was sent to be with the Lord tonite. Penni is a true inspiration to us all, and our hearts go out to Randy and Hunter as they grieve the loss of their wife and mother. God bless the family, friends, and credit union members who prayed daily for Penni and the family.
Thank you from all her friends, family, and coworkers. God Bless!
