This is for Sam. The family and friends are uniting to show our support to the Monticure Family during this difficult time.

Often times when we fight for a belief or cause, we never have a chance to see or know the people we are helping. It becomes impossible for us to see any tangible benefits to the aid we are giving, and because of this, we can lose our drive and motivation to help those closest to us. Please take a moment to learn about a local family that needs your help.

Sam Monticure just recently underwent emergency brain surgery to remove a fist-sized hematoma from his brain. The cause is unknown, and doctors at Cook’s Children are working diligently to save Sam’s life. Sam currently has to keep a drain tube attached to his head to drain out brain fluid and blood in order to prevent terminal swelling. While his condition is improving, Sam is still in the pediatric intensive care unit and is looking at a two-to-three month stay in the hospital.

Sam’s parents, Tasha and Walt Monticure are living every parent’s worst nightmare, and need our prayers with them.Although it can seem impossible to offer them any consolation for what they are going through, we can give them some peace of mind during this difficult time. Emergency surgery and extended hospital stays can be painfully expensive, and we are asking that you contribute whatever you can to help Sam’s parents defray his medical expenses. We want Tasha and Walt to have as much time as possible to care for their son, and anything you can donate will give them more opportunities to focus on Sam’s recovery and rehabilitation.

We make this plea to you so that we can give a family in pain what comfort we can. If nothing else, please keep Sam and his family in your thoughts and pray for this family that their young boy makes a full recovery.
