Please show your support in helping our sister Divina DiCristina fight Breast Cancer.

Divina resides in Kenner, LA and will be 46yrs old on 2/5/12. She is a wife, mother of 3 amazing boys ,a loving sister, an amazing friend to many, and a dependable employee. She is a loving, beautiful person who doesn’t think twice to put someone ahead of herself. Anyone that knows our sister knows that she is a strong, selfless woman with a heart larger than life. Even through this battle with cancer, she still finds the strength to look at the positive in her situation and is always ready for a good laugh. She is truly an amazing person inside and out who simply loves to enjoy the more simple things in life.

In October 2011, our sister was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with HER2 Positive Breast Cancer. HER2-positive breast cancers tend to be more aggressive than other types of breast cancer. Since her diagnosis, she has had two back to back lumpectomies and started with chemotherapy sessions. Immediately, she started to feel the side effects of chemo and unfortunately had a severe reaction to the type of chemotherapy medication the doctors started her on. On her next session 2/2/12 her oncologist will try different chemo drugs that her body can tolerate that can kill the type of aggressive cancer cells that she has.

It has been such a challenging battle on many fronts emotionally for her, her husband and family, and especially from a financial perspective. As of now, Divina is scheduled for Chemotherapy & Radiation with injections of Pegfilgrastim after every session for the next year. However, it is too soon to tell how her body will respond and if there will be any unexpected delays and expenses. As of now, her out of pocket medical expenses continue to overwhelmingly pile up. Divina is trying to work as long as she is physically able, however the amount of time she can continue to work is uncertain with the side effects of chemo in which she is experiencing. Her husband is self employed and has a small plumbing business, but due to the down economy, has it’s fair share of financial struggles.

Most of us cannot imagine what it takes for Divina to stay emotionally “above water.” Please join us to help offset/assist with medical/daily living expenses to alleviate the financial burden. This will allow Divina to place her energy and focus where it should be—BEATING this illness, receiving her healing, and getting back to serving and doing the things she loves.

Please open your hearts and join us as we unite to give support to someone who is always so giving to others. Small and great donations are certainly welcome.
Thank you for being an answer to prayer.

Divina’s sisters,

Alta Seludo & Alfie Adona
