Join the family and friends of the Matteo family in raising funds to help alleviate the hardship resulting from John's battle with cancer.

Support the Matteo Family this Holiday Season!

John Matteo – a loving father and husband - was diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2005. After almost four years in remission, John recently survived 3 strokes and is battling with Stage IV cancer, again. His wife Michele, my sister, has bravely taken on the role as his primary caregiver, and stands by him day and night, while also caring for their three children, Matthew (21 yrs), Johnny (18 yrs), and Lauren (14 yrs). This decision was not easy, as it has forced her to leave her own job, while medical and daily living expenses continue to accumulate.

In addition to the unthinkable hardship that comes when a loved one is diagnosed with a typically terminal illness, Michele and John have spent the past 20 years selflessly caring for their eldest son Matthew, who lives with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, Michele and John have raised their two younger children, Johnny and Lauren, to be exceptional and talented students, athletes, and supportive siblings to their loving big brother, Matt.

As their Sister and Aunt, I have seen them triumph through hard times, and I feel it is now time for us to help “give them a break”. I would like to ask your assistance in raising money to alleviate some of the financial hardship that this family faces, and allow them to start the New Year with a little less stress.

In addition, I’m going to set the bar high with a $10,000 fundraising goal. Please know that no matter what your financial situation is, you can help! Whether you donate $5 or $100, your contribution will make a difference for this family. In addition, I would like to ask for your assistance in getting the word out about this effort. Post the link to John’s site anywhere and everywhere you can – emails, Facebook – anything you can do to drive others to the site is most appreciated.
