My husband and I, of 24 years, are trying to buy our first home. We were forced out of our last home, of 15 years, by the owner due to health issues they were facing and literally sold the house within 10 days of putting it on the market. She took my down payment on the home yet took a different offer from another buyer leaving us just days to find a new place to move. My husband was granted a couple days off so we could accomplish moving, but when he returned to work, the company fired him. This was November of 2009 and he just found work again 5 weeks ago, Nov 2010. We received our money back, however the move cost us the rest of our savings. My daughter and first grand baby, just 15 months old, are now living with us and we couldn't be more thrilled. However, this has left us very short funded and put us in a position where we are unable to raise the rest of the funds we need to close the deal on this home. The funds we saved for that purpose have been used to pay the lease to own monthly fee while my husband was out of work. I work from home doing piece work and baby sit my grand daughter.

We are in a lease to own option with just a few months left to buy the home or we lose our deposit completely. This will leave us without a home as well as short funded to find an apartment.

According to our lease to own contract, we will have to move from our current location by December 20th.

Our current landlord is very gracious and has actually added an extension to our agreement. I couldn't ask him for anything more than that, knowing we are holding up the sale of this house as it is.

A mortgage on this home will help us save 300 a month compared to rents in the area. This figure includes insurance and taxes. Family has helped the best they can and we are grateful for everything they have done. While we work on paying family back, I am still working very hard to raise the funds. It will be a miracle if we succeed but it will be because of people like you making it happen.
