The family and friends of Craig Creason are uniting together to raise money to help his family battle his fight against Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Craig is the loving father of two kids, John and Amber and a loving stepfather, to Carrie, Tyler and Joshua and husband to Vera. He has 8 grandchildren and one on the way. In January 2008, Craig was terminated from his job due to the economy he was 52 years old. To help pay the bills and provide for the family he started doing odd jobs for people in the neighborhood. The money was never great but he did what he could to make sure they had a roof over their head and food on the table. Through out the next year and a half his unemployment was extended a couple of time but still no job prospects and we knew it was due to his age. The odd jobs were getting few and far between, so the family had to withdraw his wife Vera's IRA. They took what was there out just to get by. Finally near the end of 2009 Craig did find a job doing maintenance at a nursing home but was only there for a few months. In January of 2010, his wife who was having health issues, found a mass on her thyroid. He told his employer about the situation going on at home and everything seemed ok until he showed up for work and they let him go a week later. The family believes he was let go so they wouldn't have to carry insurance for them. Things got worse though, the very next day he received a call that his son was just diagnoised with MS. Things continued to spiral from there. In mid 2010 his unemployment did run out. Without any options he continued to hunt for odd jobs, fill out job applications, and try to care for his wife Vera and his son that had just been diagnosed with MS. Months and months went by and finally in July 2012 Craig, down on his luck, was providing care for his son with MS. They went outside for some fresh air and his son fell on the deck. Since his son has no control of his muscles Craig went to pick him up and felt a "pop" on his backside. Not thinking much he showed his wife later on in the evening and mortified Vera said he needed to see a doctor immediately. Both his family physician and surgeon said they had never seen anything like this and finally after a few weeks he's been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. It has spread throughout his entire body. As you can imagine the family is devastated. They were already down on their luck and now they may have to face losing their husband and father. They will lose everything they have. I asked Craig if I could do a fundraiser for him... for all the people out there that have had cancer touch their lives and he replied, "I'm not ready to check out of this world. I have a lot to live for so I am just hoping that in some way... some how.. we can get through this too. I would be very grateful for what ever help I could get. I'm a proud man and I'm not the kind of person that likes to ask for help but I have finally reached a point where I need as much positive energy and generosity as I can get. Most of all, I dont want my wife to have to burdon this all by her self. That's what makes me the most sad. She's the love of my life. I'm more afraid of her future than my own. I just want us to be ok." I am also selling personalized coasters to help the family. 100% of the proceeds MINUS shipping are going directly to Craig Creason.
