If you read Carmella's story, please find it in your heart to help her live pain-free and happy!

My 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Carmella, has a disease called lens luxation which effects a lot of the terrier breed. She had her right eye removed in October 2009 and over the last 15 months I have put 2 different kinds of drops in her left eye twice a day to try to prevent the left eye from luxating. Unfortunately, the left eye luxated in early January. I took her to the vet and he was able to replace the lens back behind the iris/cornea, but the luxation caused ulcerations on the eye and she is completely blind due to cateracts and glaucoma. Although the pain is not as terrible now as when the lens is luxated, she is still uncomfortable and it is difficult for her to go outside in the sun. I have struggled with the idea of my sweet Carmella losing her second eye, but she has already begun to adapt to the house and yard as a blind dog. She is in good health, mentally as well as physically, and I want her to have a long life, even as a blind dog!
