The family and friends of Donald Anton are uniting to raise money to help with medical and related expenses. Please show your support !

Don Anton is originally from Long Branch, New Jersey moved to Canton, NY in 1998 to start a life with April Doring. He's endured the bitter ice storms of upstate New York along beside you. He's been here watching, as businesses came and went in this small town. He remembers when the little store down the road was still running and called "Darrah's." He played pool when the Bar was still "Char's." He also watched the store change names and close and the bar burn down. But before all of this, he embraced a life, not many could honor. He fought for your freedom from 1963 to 1967; he poured his sweat and strength for 10 years on the railroad and provided postal service for 15 years. Even when he moved here, he continued to work hard and fight any battle that came his way. This includes a misdiagnosis of emphysema, nose cancer, an aneurism in his stomach and back problems.

Now he is having to fight harder than ever and needs your help. In April he was hospitalized in Potsdam-Canton hospital for breathing complications. Then he was transferred to Burlington, VT Hospital, where they discovered the MRSA infection in his blood. They gave him antibiotics and performed back surgery to get rid of the infection. He was then transferred to Ogdensburg for physical therapy. We thought the worst was over, but we were wrong. The doctors then discovered he had another blood infection, Klebsiella; which then sent him back to Burlington intensive care unit. However, this trip was different; he had more complications than last time. His immune system started destroying his T-cells, so he had to have multiple blood transfusions. His legs developed clots, which they did get rid of. His back was in extreme pain, which the doctors couldn't diagnose. They once again gave him antibiotics to get rid of the infection. Doctors treated the blood clots in his legs and finally stopped his immune system from destroying his T-cells. He has had repeated infections. This last one is very hard to pin point. Surgery is not an option at this point due to his illness. Anytime there is light and another fall back comes.

Expenses have reached over $44,600 and more is to come from travel, lodging, food and medical bills. April his wife has been out of work, so she can be beside Don, every second she's allowed. To help offset these expenses we are asking for your support

Please help out Don; a Father, Grandfather, Brother, Husband, Neighbor and Friend.
