Sierra is a strong & positive young lady who has alot of supporters who will help her win this battle. Let's show Sierra how much we care.

All your contributions , thoughts, and especially prayers are very much appreciated!!!

Sierra Elizabeth, is a sixteen year old Junior ,and the oldest sister of six children, who was diagnosed with MDS [Pre-Leukemia] on October Fourteenth of 2010.Wedesday October the 13 th we was sent to Lexington at the Uk Pediatric Hematology Oncology Office ; there we meet Dr. Greenwood. She had order lab work on Sierra to see what was going on with her . That night around 8:30 Dr. Greenwood had called me to tell me Sierra needed more testing to be done ; that they found some abnormal cells in her blood work. She went on Sierra will need a "Bone Marrow Biopsy" , I knew right then Sierra had Leukemia. Sierra received her first biopsy October the 14th . Sierra was then diagnosed with MDS ( myelodysplastic syndromes- preleukemia) . From there here siblings & I was tested to see if we was a match . Sadly none of us was a match for Sierra . The doctors in Lexington had sent us to Cincinnati Children's Hospital ; there they found her match.Sierra received her Bone Marrow Transplant on December 22, 2010. She lost her hair on December the 25 ; Christmas Morning .. She went through 24 rounds of Chemotherapy received numerous rounds of blood, and platelets, and we stayed in Cincinnati Children's from December 11th, til February 1st. And, has been in-out some after, for short stays! Sierra is now in remission "Cancer-FREE!"Her immune system is very low right now; due to the fact the chemo killed out her bone marrow. Although, we do have to keep a close eye on her, Sierra can now be somewhat of a 'NORMAL teen' again and, return to school when she feels up to it. She does struggle here, and there. Her body can always reject her bone marrow cells. We do still travel to Lexington, & Cincinnati for appointments based on how she is doing, could be anywhere from once to twice a month, [IF] she is doing good. The trips to the clinic are a all day event. We are wanting to raise enough money so the family will have gas money to Sierra's clinic appointments, is able to buy food to eat while they are there, and to get a motel room if they have to stay over night. I really feel like we can hit the goal..
