Jackson Whittington, 4-years-old with SGBS, in need of financial support to help cover medical expenses not covered by his insurance.

Jackson Trine Whittington was born on January 7, 2008 with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. At 3 months of age, he was diagnosed with Simpson Golabi Behmel Syndrome (SGBS) which is very rare. Recently he was also diagnosed with a fever syndrome (PFAPA).

His parents, Daniel and Halle, have gone great lengths to find the best care for Jackson since he was born. They have found great doctors and specialists from speech therapists to surgeons.

As a four-year-old, Jackson is still undergoing continual tests, surgeries, and therapy. He needs ultrasounds to check for kidney tumors (SGBS protocol) every 4 months. Ultrasounds cost $300/each time. Blood work runs anywhere from $20-$100 and these blood tests are every 4 months as well. Sometimes they requests additional tests (VCOG, MRI, etc). Last year he had both. He also had an EEG and EKG this year. And in April 2012, he went through a sleep study because of his fever syndrome (PFAPA). This sleep study is approximately $6,500.

The past 2 years the Whittington's deductible has been $4K, but this year the best plan they were approved for has a $10K deductible.

Daniel and Halle have accrued medical debt over the last 4 years, which exceeds what they can pay off, and ongoing expenses that have become simply overwhelming for them to deal with.

Their medical debt is now around $26,000. This total includes Jackson's surgeries, craniofacial team visits, speech therapy, testing (ultrasounds, blood work, etc) and all his specialists (genetics, ENT, cardiology, neurology, craniofacial plastics, infectious disease, orthopedics, urology, dental). This summer alone, Jackson will have another oral surgery which costs $2,000 which is not covered by insurance.

We as their family and friends, see the need for the Whittingtons to receive our financial help, hope, and continual love! Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly prayers.

Please watch the videos on this page, give as you can, and write an encouraging note for the Whittingtons. They would appreciate knowing that we are all behind them and our precious Jackson!

God Bless you!
