Welcome to Anthony Mazzella's Bone Marrow Transplant Fund. All funds will be used to cover Ant's medical costs. Please show your support!

On Tuesday May 8, 2012, Anthony Mazzella was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, a rare bone marrow failure disease that only affects 1 in 1,000,000 people each year. Anthony is being treated by the wonderful physicians at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and right now, Anthony visits CHOP 1-2 times per week for bloodwork as well as blood and platelet infusions. He is currently not allowed to attend school for fear that he will get an infection that his body will not be able to fight and has to wear a mask anytime he will be in contact with other children. A bone marrow transplant is one of the only treatment options available. Nicole, Anthony's mom, has taken time off from work until they can figure out exactly what Ant's treatment plan and prognosis are, while his dad, Sal, keeps working to support the family. Because of this, they are in jeopardy of losing their health benefits. Also, the costs of a bone marrow transplant are incurred and must be paid for by the recipient, including donor expenses. We have set up this fundraising site in order to help the family offset the costs of Anthony's medical expenses.
