With the help of family, friends and others we are praying to save Johnny's life. Thank you in advance for all of your support!!!

Our son, Johnny, is fighting Stage IV Colon Cancer. This is the third time he is fighting cancer. We urgently need help paying for his ongoing medical treatment/daily living experiences (travel and accommodations) because the cancer is metastasizing! This is his story:

We started fighting way back in 1985 when he was diagnosed at three years old with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft muscle tissue tumor that was located with the primary site in his right ear, also located in his mastoid bone, the bone in front of the ear, the seventh facial nerve and up against the wall of his brain. They really thought it would eat through the wall of his brain and kill him. Back then very few children survived cancer of any type and although we were told that our beautiful little boy would not survive, he did survive after a two year long fight with aggressive chemotherapy and six weeks radiation. After he went into remission, it took many years of appointments with specialist to help Johnny and a lot of determination on his part.

When John was 17 years old in 1998, he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Which he inherited from me. Bummer! Crohn's is an auto-immune chronic disease that is much like cancer, if you ask me. You go in and out of remission. It is even treated with chemotherapy drugs. The unfortunate thing for John is that he really never went into remission with the Crohn's disease. He has needed blood transfusions since he first was diagnosed nearly every six weeks with a hemoglobin as low as 4.

Although John was sick, he obtained two Associate of Arts Degrees at San Joaquin Delta College and worked. He would never miss school or work unless he was in the hospital. He is a very intelligent, interesting person who is fun to be around. He is a major Beatles fan. He love oldies music and says he was born to keep that music alive. John has a mellow happy personality and he loves life!

On June 12, 2010, he got a call from his GI doctor and he diagnosed him with Colon Cancer. We were back at Stanford the next day. He went into remission in March 2011. He struggled through the chemo and a surgery and we were thrilled, hoping it was over! He went back to work in May and was working out and was feeling really good....

Then, in January, John thought he had a virus and was admitted into the hospital when his kidney's shut down, he had an intestinal blockage, and a bacterial infection in his body. He stayed in ICU for a few days and a couple more weeks in the hospital before they said the Colon Cancer was back. He was discharged from the hospital on Superbowl Sunday and by Tuesday, he was back at Stanford. We started juicing! Of course, Stanford dumped all the prescriptions he was on and the test results, and started the tests over. They determined he had two tumors, one in the pelvic area and the other by his small intestine. After a horrible urinary tract infection, he finally started his chemo on March 20, 2012!!! Yay!!! I couldn't wait for him to start the chemo. In the three months since Johnny started this chemo at Stanford Hospital, the cancer has metastasized.

After researching different types of medical treatment that could help cure cancer or prolong Johnny's life, we have discovered an oncologist in Nevada that integrates alternative and conventional treatments (chemo + healthy eating/life styles + more). To receive this treatment Johnny would have to live in Reno for at least the first month of Immune Therapy treatment. Then, he will need to return for his chemo/immune therapy treatments every two weeks. Sadly, the insurance coverage is limited to his ongoing treatment.

The Saving Johnny Tighe, Again Fund desperately needs your donations! Please feel free to send any amount you can afford by check, debit or credit.
