Unless he receives a needed operation, Peter, a hard working husband & father of four is more likely to die from coronary artery disease.

Born and raised in the Philippine Islands on October, 4, 1958, Peter was diagnosed with heart disease, in the latter part of 2006. Due to lack of funds and resources, Peter was not able to afford the necessary surgery, but instead was treated with oral medications. Peter’s Father had open heart surgery at the age of 62 and died due to a heart attack at the age 66. His twin brother Francis, husband and father of four children, had open heart surgery at the age of 47, and he is, by God’s grace, still living.

Peter is also a husband and a father of four children. Due to poor economic conditions, Peter and his family live in a one room shack. By trade, Peter is a bus conductor, and the main breadwinner of his family. His wife makes and sales popsicles to help provide food for the family. Due to work conditions and in order to save money, Peter used to sleep on the bus during his work week. This helped pay for his weekly transportation to and from work. The travel time is one hour to and from work. Peter saw his family on the weekends. As you can see, Peter and his wife sacrificed much to support their family.

In February 2011, Peter began experiencing frequent chest pains and shortness of breath. After seeking medical help, he was diagnosed with coronary artery disease. His diagnoses included the need for heart surgery within six to nine months, or the condition could be fatal. Due to his medical condition, Peter resigned his job. Physical activity increases the symptoms of chest pain and shortness of breath. The doctor advised “bed rest”, and Peter is resting at home as an outpatient. His “outpatient” status is the result of lack of health insurance. Due to his lack of insurance and monetary funds to pay for the necessary medical treatment, Peter’s situation is grave without the much needed heart surgery.

Peter’s medical need is urgent. His extended family is unable to pool enough money to pay for his much needed operation.

Please make a difference in Peter’s life and the life of his family by donating to this cause.

Peter is in his family’s prayers that God’s people would respond to this need. If this story has touched you, please don’t hesitate to give whatever you can to save Peter’s life. Your gift is greatly appreciated.

So, if you could save a life, would you? Peter and his family need your help.
