The family and friends of Ebony Baitey are uniting to raise money to help cover the expenses related to her upcoming Kidney Transplant.

Ebony's battle began in 2007, on Mother's Day, when she only 32. She had type 2 diabetes that, without health insurance, went untreated for some time. Her issues began with her eyes, on July 2007 she was experiencing vision problems and by October, she was legally blind and going through her first glaucoma surgery to save the remaining sight.
In spite of this, she remained a positive force and an excellent single mother, going to work every day that her health allowed and trying to keep her two children's lives as normal as possible.
With her health under control, in 2009, Ebony moved to Eugene, Oregon to be close to family and experience the benefits of a slower lifestyle. Within two weeks of being in Eugene, Ebony went into kidney failure as a complication caused by diabetes.
February 2010, Ebony began peritoneal dialysis, as she swiftly went into end stage renal failure. Today, over two years later and with nearly two years behind her on a three year wait kidney transplant list, she's beginning to prepare for a new future. Her son, Jovan, will be 17 this year and Junior in high school. Her daughter, Ivory, will be 15 and a freshman in high school.
However, the costs associated with the surgery and post surgery care and medications are exorbitant, and she will have to temporarily relocate to Portland, over 2 hours away, for up to 45 days. These expenses weigh heavily on her mind as her limited income barely gets her by on a monthly basis.
It would be so nice to remove this burden from her shoulders so she can face this surgery with peace of mind that her kids, her home and herself will be taken care of.
Thank you all for your support, donations and especially your prayers.
