The family and friends of Gessalyn Dias are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Gessalyn May Dias She is 3 years old and she was diagnosed november 25th 2009 the day before Thanksgiving. I first realized something was wrong with Gessalyn when she stopped walking all of a sudden. After weeks of going back and fourth to the doctors they finally sent me to Hasbro where blood work was done and we learned that she would spend the next 25 months in the battle of her life against A.L.L (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) ... We spent 9 weeks straight in the hospital from that night forward.. Her little body transformed and went through changes and we seen things happen to her that I would never wish upon anyone. I was pregnant for my now 1 year old daughter and do to the stress I almost lost the baby. The baby came early and while Gessalyn was fighting for her life in one hospital my brand new baby daughter was also fighting her own battle because she was born so early.... It was the worst time in my life. Gessalyn has been in treatment for 22 months and we have had many set backs. Whether it be infections, heart issues from the side affects of chemo or a broken leg because of all the steroids she has to take. She has had to learn to walk 2 times over again since being diagnosed from being bedridden and from the broken leg. She still is in physical therapy and still has some ways to go before she is running and jumping again. We currently are at Hasbro every week for her routine Chemo and check ups. I have finished school as a social work thru this all and am now pursuing my career as a nurse so I may one day work with children like Gessalyn. I am unable to work because Gessalyn has a compromised immune system and can not go to daycare and with all the medicine she has to take on a daily bases, I am the only one I trust to take care of her. I am a single mother of four little girls so through this fight times have been very challenging but we are blessed just to have every moment with this little Angel. Anything else is just so little compared to being able to see her smile again everyday. She is a wonderful and inspiring little girl. Her strength has made me a better person in this life.

Its so great to see people who care so much for my little girl and they haven't even met her. I love that she has touched the lives of so many people with just the power of her strength during this battle. Thank you so very much and I will forever be grateful to everyone who has made this choice possible.

God Bless......
