Help Jean-Luc pay his medical bills and afford medical treatements & physical therapy to repair the damage caused by his stroke.

The Jean-Luc Stroke Recovery Fund

I am organizing this medical fundraiser for my brother Jean-Luc, who deserves this help more than anyone I know. He suffered a stroke at the end of May 2012 and was admitted to Emory Hospital in Atlanta with severe medical problems (Stroke, seizure, cerebral edema, etc), with a paralysis on his left side. His diagnosis is leaving us with still-unpaid medical bills and the need for further medical treatements to assist in his recovery.

In the middle of his non-stop, active life, Jean-Luc suffered a stroke, leaving his left side paralyzed and his speech center affected.
After two weeks in the Intensive care unit at Emory’s Hopital in Atlanta, Jean-Luc has been admitted to Center for Rehabilitation Medicine for an intensive rehabilitation therapy.
We were told by doctors that Jean-Luc is unable to do basic ADL’s(Active Daily Living Skills) but he refused that reality and with intense physical therapy he is regaining strength and learning how to use is left side again. He also rehabbed his ability to speak, write and read and continues pushing himself towards making as full a recovery as possible.
Jean-Luc has now regained his ability to talk and have limited conversations. He can again take care of his personal needs and grooming despite impaired use of his left arm. He has overcome incredible odds and refuses to stop reaching for his goal of again leading a productive life of helping others.

A very accomplished heatlhy living person, volunteer, Jean Luc is a proud native of Cote D'Ivoire and enetered the United States in 1996 to attend college and ultimately graduated from Georgia State University with both an undergraduate and masters degree in finance, thanks to his mother support. He went on to tutor High school students, volunteer in homeless shelters, support and help friends whenever required or needed. All the while, he was continuing his own professional development towards becoming a financial advisor so that he could further assist people in improving their lives. Jean-Luc became an incredibly well loved and accomplished advisor, helping people of all ages and backgrounds.
His devotion to his work, family, friends, and others is paramount.
The devastating effects of this stroke forced Jean-Luc into inactivity but always 100% motivated, he has been utilizing his time to devoting himself towards recovery. All this loving, giving, caring man wants in life is to be able to fully recover, go back to his everyday life and continue helping others.
With intense therapy and the right treatments, Jean-Luc can make a full recovery that will give him a chance at achieving a rich, full, productive life again. Your help, prayers and well-wishes are very appreciated. We know we can count on each one of you. Any donation of any amount will contribute towards our reaching this goal.
Jean-Luc being uninsured and not qualifying for Medicaid, and knowing that a Stroke is a “disqualifying medical condition” for most insurance company’s, he is in dire need of financial assistance!
Our main objective/plan is to be able to help cover his unpaid medical bills and therapy fees (estimated between 100 k to 150 K), medical treatments, and equipment once he is discharged from the hospital. Also, i twill help covers some of his everyday living bills (rent, etc…)

The outpouring of concern, kindness and support has been overwhelming so far.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. All our love, The family of Jean-Luc.
