Help Jon spread the word about the dangers of childhood obesity.

On May 11th 2010 Jon weighed nearly 400 pounds. Having always struggled with his weight it was not to surprising to him. He was on an unsustainable path certain to lead to and early death that comes to many morbidly obese people around the world.

Jon having a wonderful wife and 3 beautiful children knew if he wanted to grow old with his wife and see his kids grow up he would have to make a change.

So he began to change his life around. He joined a gym met with a personal trainer that showed him the path to a healthy sustainable lifestyle. He set small goals like being able to run and play with his kids. These are things most people take for granted but for a lot of people there weight has gotten so out of control even playing with your kids is a laborious and sometimes impossible task. After the first 2 months Jon lost almost 50 pounds and was starting to regain some of the strength and stamina he once had. He started setting some longer term goals to keep his motivation up so his trainer suggested a 5k or bike run or something like that. Jon said he would like to try to do a triathlon.

Since then Jon has been on a mission to continue to lose weight, train for triathlons and to spread the word about living a healthier lifestyle especially for children and their parents. In America right now there are more then 25 million children that are obese and more then 25 million more that are at risk of becoming obese as adults.

On May 1st 2011 Jon competed in his first triathlon. At that point he had lost 110 pounds and was able to complete the race in a respectable time for someone of his size. You don’t see to many triathletes over 200 pounds let alone 275 pounds. By August 20th Jon was down another 20 pounds and competed in the USAT National Championship Triathlon in Burlington, Vermont. Not only did Jon finish the race he won the clydesdale (over 200 pounds) age 39 and under National Championship. He also finished in the top 15 overall in his age group which made him eligible to become a member of Team USA and represent our country at the World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand next year.

We need your help in raising funds for Jon's travel, and various other expenses that come with starting a foundation and giving speeches around the country at events he will be competeing in. Joining Team USA will give Jon a unique platform to spread the word about the dangers of obesity, and he will be able to share his inspirational story across the United States and the World.

Please Help Jon change as many lives as possible so they may also live out their dreams.

Thank You.
