SIGHT FOR HEPATITIS C-MCS PATIENT
This is the Sight for Janet K Weir Fund. The funds will be used to Janet's medical expenses not covered by Medicare.
Janet Weir has lived a life of compassion, care, and loving support of others. That has not protected her from her own physical suffering. Now, without supplemental insurance, she faces blindness if she can't meet a Medicare shortfall of $4,100.
Janet served as a librarian at Central Arizona College for many years. She put her mind and heart and soul into that job. The many needy students of that school came to her with academic questions and problems. They also came to her for more personal and supportive conversations. She always did her best to respond as fully as possible to whatever need came her way. In that way, she bettered the life of the college and the lives of the students there in many ways.
When Janet encountered other needs of other people outside her job, she responded there too. In an anonymous effort to help these people, she directly contributed monetarily to their well being. Every month, that exhausted a good deal of her income.
In (1980), Janet received a blood transfusion before they properly screened all blood. That transfusion infected her with Hepatitis C , now chronic, www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001329/ has nearly eliminated her immune system making her highly chemically and environmentally sensitive, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities www.healsoaz.org
No matter what hardships Janet has faced, her attitude remained and remains remarkably upbeat.
After many years of alternative treatments for her disorders, suffering much in the process, she has maintained the same loving attitude toward the world and the people in her life. As she has done all her life, she continues to care for and to give to others freely.
The time has come for others to give to her. Her eyes are being enveloped with cataracts which will, if left untreated, leave her blind. Because of the Hepatitis C and the resulting sensitivities of all kinds, as a high risk patient, her treatment makes very special and expensive demands which Medicare will not completely cover. That motivates this plea for your support for this remarkable woman's quality of life.
