The family and friends of Lisa Marshall are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against cancer. Please show your support!

The journey of a thousand miles begin with one step. Let us tell you a little bit about Lisa’s journey as a two time cancer survivor. Lisa first fought her way through breast cancer 10 years ago and she beat the odds. She had a mastectomy with reconstruction along with chemo and radiation. It was not an easy fight, but she stayed prayerful and never lost her faith and with the support of family and friends she made it through.

Unfortunately, in February 2010, the cancer returned. Lisa went to the doctor because she had shortness of breath and a cough not knowing that she was now in for the fight of her life again. The cancer was back now in her lungs and worse than before.  Lisa ended up in the hospital four times in 2010 and she had to have surgery on her lungs due to an infection caused by the two chest tubes which were placed in her lungs for four months. She was off of work for six months. The time off  work led up to using all of her savings, vacation time and sick time. To avoid loss of income and insurance she had to return work, physically she could only return to work part-time which is what she did. Shortly after returning to work she ended up with pneumonia and had to be off work yet again. She is now back at work part-time.

Lisa goes to chemotherapy treatments every week and has a co-pay every time, along with having to pay co-pays for visits to her heart, lung, infectious diseases, & her primary care doctor that she has to see, on a regular basis. Then if you add in the cost of gas, which as we all know is extremely expensive, for each of these trips. That doesn’t even take into account the numerous tests and cat scans that she has to have on a regular basis that her insurance doesn’t completely cover. The hospital actually would not let her get some of the tests done because she could not pay her deductible. She also has prescriptions that she has filled monthly.

One of the major concerns with the doctors is for her not to get too stressed which is next to impossible.  As her sister and her daughter-in-law, we would also like to share that she’s an amazing woman. Lisa is always such a blessing to others. She never forgets anyone's birthday and even anniversaries. She is always just a phone call away for anything she is asked to do, no matter how bad she feels. She is always encouraging and comforting others.  Lisa is a strong woman.

You have the opportunity to help a God fearing woman that has helped so many people in her life.  This website is simply a small way to try to help ease the way for Lisa through this difficult journey, by easing some of her medical  bills, chemotherapy treatments, or just to help supplement her current loss of income. By all means, it will surely help reduce her level of added stress. Some people may only be able to contribute a small amount. It doesn't matter how small it is. Any amount will help and will be very much  appreciated.  Her family thanks each and everyone of you in advance for your support in anyway, even if you can only offer your prayers we need those too and may God favor you with His blessings in a very special way!
