The family & friends of Peyton Madura are uniting to raise money to help with her cancer fight. Thank you for your generous support.

A beautiful and vibrant 18-year-old, Peyton was diagnosed with cancer in December. After not feeling well for a couple days, she became noticeably more ill on Thursday, December 22. Tests done on Christmas Eve showed masses on her liver. A biopsy was done, but before the results were returned, Peyton had developed a blood clot in her left leg which required emergency surgery on December 26. The biopsy results which came back later that day revealed that the masses on her liver were cancerous, a very rare and aggressive cancer. The results also revealed that the cancer had spread to her lungs. She underwent surgery on December 27 to cut off the blood supply to the tumor to prevent it from growing any larger. In January, she had surgery again, this time to resect half of her liver and the nodule on her lung. Within a week of this surgery, it was discovered that she was filling with fluid and a stent was put into her liver to drain fluid. Peyton spent 3 months in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Because the cancer is such an aggressive form, the family was advised that it would more than likely return, which it did as a body scan in early April revealed cancer in Peyton's lungs. She has undergone 2 rounds of chemotherapy; upcoming test results will determine what course is taken next.
