Proceeds for Vivi and her battle against Spina Bifida.Funds will be used for Vivi's medical costs, related expenses not covered by insurance

Vivian is a beautiful, spunky one year old little Angel. She is full of life and personality. When Vivian's mother went into labor on August 4th, 2011, she was expecting a normal delivery and a healthy baby girl. Things quickly changed when her baby went breech during labor and she had an emergency c-section. Thank God she had the c-section, because Vivian was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. Spina bifida is a developmental congenital disorder caused by the incomplete closing of the embryonic neural tube. Hydrocephalus is fluid built up inside the brain. Within 12 hours of birth Vivi underwent surgery to close the opening in her back and a shunt put in her head to help drain the fluid. Two major surgeries and she pulled through like a champ! Vivi is now one year old and she is beautiful! Her parents love and care for her each and every day and have done so since day one. Giving her, and her older sister , and older brother Frankie the best care possible. I have never heard them complain and they wake up each day more positive then most people whose situations are lighter. I know this because Vivi's mom and dad are my sister in law and brother in law, and Vivi and Victoria are my two beautiful nieces and Frankie my nephew. As with any child who has a severe condition, she has had many complications from this disease. It was recently discovered that she also has a Chiari Malformation and would need another surgery. Unfortunately, every time surgery is near, Vivi has gotten an infection and could not be cleared for surgery. She came very close just this Monday, the 27th of August 2012, when the doctors decided to cancel in the pre-op room because of a little cough and congestion. By today, Thursday August 29th, her parents had to return to the ER because of how ill she had become. Vivi had to have emergency surgery because the shunt in her head had stopped working and needed to be replaced. The surgery is over and she is doing well, but will still have to be closely monitored because the surgery was high risk since she was sick when they had to put her under sedation. I realized tonight, after all she had been through in her short little life, that this was just the beginning. The beginning for her, and the beginning for her parents. I know that there bills are piling up and there is much there insurance does not cover. I am asking for any donations possible from anyone who can help, to help ease the burden of finances on Vivi's parents. Big or small, every little bit helps and we have a big goal! Because vivi has a BIG heart and couldn't be more deserving!! I thank you for any and all help and donations! please share and pass this on!! I hope through the sharing of vivi's story that we can reach our goal and let Vivi's story be heard!
