This is the Kevin Steinhauer's Kidney Transplant Fund. The fund will be used for Kevin's medical cost and expenses not covered by insurance.

My husband Kevin is on the waiting list for a Kidney Transplant. He was taking Cyclosporne to help keep his kidney function, but while he was in the hospital over this past Easter for a hierniated disc,he learned that his Creatine was too high and he would have to begin dialysis. Two weeks after discharge from the hospital ,he had a PD Catheter installed. There was an infection and he had to have it removed. He had to wait for the infection to heal to have another one installed. When the new PD catheter was installed ,Kevin was told that he had to have a Perm Cath put in as well for Hemodialysis because he could not wait any longer for treatment. His Kidney function was too low and he was in danger of getting even sicker. He had to do Hemodialysis while his new PD catheter healed. He is currently on PD dialysis. He does an exchange 4 to 5 times a day. He has been in and out of the hospital recently for infections to his PD catheter. He is not employed but he keeps busy by volunteering in the community. is currently the Scoutmaster for the Boyscout troop in our town. He volunteers every chance he gets.He loves helping people .We have four children ages 17,15,13, and 12 who adore their father. He keeps a very positive attitude.

I am starting this fund raiser to help with the expenses that are not covered by our health insurance,To cover traveling expenses, copays and deductibles. It will also be used to help  cover the expenses of the donor, such as time off from their job, travel expenses and prescriptions for them.

We are very hopeful of Kevin receiving a kidney,The potential donor has to complete 3 more tests to see if they can donate. If everything goes well, we can move on to the next step of scheduling the surgery. Please help if you can and say a prayer or Kevin and his potential donor. Thank you.
