We are asking the local community to please help raise money so that Jessica & Caleb do not have to live out on the streets on Dec 1, 2011.

Jessica Chaer had been living in Manassas Park for a year and four months when her landlord got in trouble for violating a zoning and housing code. Jessica a single mother had been struggling to pay her $700 rent but always paid it faithfully to her landlord. In October when her landlord got cited Jessica was informed she had to move by Dec. 1, 2011. Jessica works at a local store and only makes about $250 a week and that money barely pays to put food on the table for her and her son with special needs, and gets her gas to work and back and pay her car payment. Jessica had no money saved up and has been struggling to save to prepare for the Dec. 1, 2011 move. Jessica needs to find a home in Western Prince William County so that her son Caleb with Aspergers can continue to go to Pace West in Haymarket. This move is taking a toll on her son emotionally and will greatly impact his Christmas. Jessica is being punished for her landlords actions and she needs the comunity to give back! Jessica has served our community previously as a Volenteer EMT at Yorkshire. There is a long waiting list for public assistance and we need to help one of our own! Her landlord is now trying to sue her for future rent and also trying to keep her security deposit! So a portion of this will also go to try to help her find legal help to fight back!

UPDATE: The zoning officer spoke to the lawyer for Jessica's landlord he said that Jessica could stay until January 6th at least. However she still needs funding to move ASAP! Ideally she needs to be out NOW! We need your help to secure the funding needed.

Salvation Army won't help due to Jessica being bisexual, and her partner Christina being a lesbian.

Legal Services of NOVA has yet again failed them! They are trying to push their appointment back to 1/17/2012 instead of their orginal appointment of 1/2/2012. That makes their appointment after their court date which is 1/6/2012.
