Please contribute to James Britton's final expenses and a fund to be donated to the Wea Township Fire Department.

After almost 18 months of fighting, a friend, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and more, James Britton passed this morning in Chicago at the nursing home where he was receiving care. James was a 30 year old student and volunteer firefighter who touched the lives of many people, and he will be missed greatly.

As many of you know, James received a Social Security Benefit of $36 per month, which went to his personal care and expenses.  It is estimated that his final costs will be about $2,000, but we are trying to fund that and also raise a gift to be donated to a charity that was very dear to James.

James's love and respect for firefighters originated from when he was just a little boy, and he carried the noble desire to be a hero throughout his life.  One of his greatest accomplishments and moments of pride was his volunteer work at the Wea Township Fire Department.

If you would like to contribute to his legacy, and if you are able, please give whatever you can so that a memorial service can be held to celebrate his life, and a fund can be set up to be donated to the Wea Township Fire Department on behalf of James.
