We are raising money for our sweet girl who just had her 3rd surgery, an amputation

For those who want to know how Izzy's journey with us began, here is the abbreviated version. I saw a stray puppy (Izzy) get hit by a car on Nov 1st 2010. I picked her up and took her to my vet. My 2 options were leave her and they would try to heal her without surgery or take on the financial responsibility for her. I left her there and went home and contemplated how I could afford her care. I knew from the get go she belonged with our family and I was there for a reason! I decided I was unable to leave her at the vet so I picked her up on the 2nd. Good thing I didn't because they knew her knee was fractured but when I took her to ISU (Iowa state university vet school) they found out her hip was also fractured. She had a surgery to implant pins in her hip and knee. She was in the ICU for a few days and the following Monday she was moved to physical therapy there. She stayed for a week where they worked with her leg trying to get range of motion back. We brought her home and it was obvious the physical therapy was bothering her so at her appt for staple removal they xrayed it and found out a pin had moved. They needed to do surgery to remove the pin. She had that surgery, more physical therapy and then crate rest for several weeks. She lost a lot of range of motion in her knee during that time. After December we didn't have any more follow up appointments. I was bothered by the fact that she was unable to control that leg. She would get it caught under her when climbing off the couch and she would cry. I noticed she was becoming more painful over time so in April I took her back to ISU and they did an Xray. It wasn't good news. She needed an FHO or amputation because her hip was messed up. The Doc said it was bone on bone rubbing. We opted for amputation because of the condition of the leg already. It stuck straight out when she would sit. It just wasn't comfortable for her. We brought her back to our vet and scheduled the amputation for May 16 2011. We are now post op and she is doing well. However we still have a lot of medical bills we are trying to pay from the first surgery and physical therapy...If you are able to help please go to her chipin or giveforward page. You can also send money directly via paypal to Izzy is now happy in her furever home with my husband and I, our 3 kids and 2 other dogs! =)
