The family and friends of Deborah Wingenroth are uniting to raise money with her battle against Lung Cancer. Please show your support!

Deborah was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer on April 1, 2011. The definition of small cell lung cancer is: It's an aggressive cancer that grows and spreads to other parts of the body quickly. Also known as oat cell cancer, small cell lung cancer is often more responsive to chemotherapy and radiotherapy than nonsmall cell lung cancer, the other type of cancer found in the lungs. Still, small cell lung cancer usually relapses and becomes refractory to treatment within one to two years. Her small cell lung cancer is inoperable and not treatable for the long term. Since Deborah's diagnosis, Deborah has been subjected to many tests, including CAT Scans, MRI's, PET Scans and radiation and Chemotherapy. Because of Deborah's condition, she has lost the opportunity to work full time. She has applied to Social Security Benefits, which will not be approved until November (according to our contacts at The Social Security Office). Deborah does have health insurance, but the costs of her treatment are minimally covered. During the course of her illness, she has developed shingles, which are caused by stress and because of the money being spent on her condition, Deborah is afraid she will not be able to keep her home here in Pennsylvania. She has to work for the health insurance until the disability is approved AND she has to work so she can make enough money to pay her household bills AND her medical expenses. During the course of the treatment, Deborah has also lost her hair. If you find it in your heart to make a donation of any amount; from $5.00 and up, it was would greatly be appreciated.
