This is the Penny Schmidt surgery fund. She is in dire need of surgery on her torn acl on her right back leg. Please read the Description.

Penny just turned 2 this past Sunday. Earlier in her life she was abused, and was thrown out of a car, which scared her and made her run away from that family. Now she's is an adorable dog that, at the time, would come through, sniff and try to eat anything that was available to her at the time, and to find some shade because she was in the sun so much just to cool off as she was found in Florida. She was a lost puppy that was trying to look for food, and also looking for shelter, whether it would be a rainy pouring day, or a day as hot as 105 degrees. A month ago she was diagnosed with a torn ligament in her right back leg and arthritis as well. The surgery alone would be overbearing for a family that has 4 small children. Over the years she has been a protector of the family, and has grown to be a "child" of this family as well. I understand that the arthritis is something that may not be curable, but the torn ligament is something that can be fixed. Each day we watch her run outside and play even though she's in pain, but each day it seems like she is a puppy at heart, but an older dog physically. It kills me to see her like this day in and day out, and just want her to be happy once again. Please, whatever you can do, would be helpful throughout this whole procedure. Some people tell me that it's hopeless, especially with the arthritis. But I will never give up hope on her, and will always continue to fight for her until she is given the treatment she needs/deserves.
