“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 Please keep praying for our son!

Dear friends and family near and far

Our 9 year old son , Dylan was diagnosed with CML leukemia January 27, 2011. He went to the doctor with a pulled groin muscle, and left diagnosed with CML. After much research, and meetings with doctors, we found out that less than 2% of all CML diagnoses are to children. Dylan is one of 6 patients in the oncology department at Children’s Medical Hospital in Dallas with this type of chronic leukemia. He was diagnosed in the 1st of 3 stages of the cancer and was immediately placed under chemotherapy treatment. After 24 hours in the Children’s ER, 3 days in the Pediatric ICU and days of testing, Dylan finally got a room on the oncology floor. He finally got to go home on Saturday.

Dylan takes Gleevec, an oral chemo treatment that has a 96% remission rate for CML. The only cure is a bone marrow transplant. Doctors are not looking at that option as of now, due to the high rate of remission with the oral chemo. Dylan will not lose his hair, but will suffer most side effects of the treatments. A vibrant 9 year old little boy (once the star of his soccer team, All-A student and self-professing Christian) is now sick.

Mark, Dylan’s dad, is a cancer survivor himself. He overcame testicular cancer in his early 30s. Vicki Dylan's mother , lost her father to cancer in 1992. Needless to say, cancer is NOT a place we want to see Dylan. Mark works for Oncor, Vicki works for Southern Management. Together, the insurance is only going to pay for a portion of the medical bills and prescriptions. We are tirelessly working to find out if the pharmaceutical companies will work out a deal for Dylan’s LIFELONG chemo treatment, but until then, the monthly cost is over $6000 a month. Insurance is covering all but $1600 a month plus any extra bills needed. Vicki and Mark are both on unpaid leave of absences and any help would be greatly appreciated and all monies will be paid for Dylan's medication.

WE ARE SEEKING FAMILY & FRIENDS TO FINANCIALLY HELP DYLAN IN HIS FIGHT WITH LEUKEMIA.

EACH MONTH WE WILL SET UP A GIVEFORWARD ACCOUNT TO COVER A ONE MONTH SUPPLY OF CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT FOR DYLAN.

DYLAN TAKES A DAILY DOSAGE OF GLEE-VEC 400MG.

THE COST BURDEN ON OUR FAMILY IS $1600 PER MONTH THAT IS NOT COVERED BY OUR INSURANCE.

NO MATTER HOW LARGE OR SMALL THE CONTRIBUTION WE GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE AND GLORY.
