The family and friends of Carmen Velazquez are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against brain cancer Please show your support!

Carmen was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in summer of 2006. It soon traveled and after 5 years of treatment and surgeries she went into a brief remicsion.
In july of 2010 we received some terrible news that her cancer had returned n began to spread quickly throughout her body. Carmen was supposed to go in for surgery by the end of the year but due to her other health problems such as high blood pressure, heart failer and diabetes she has not been able to do so. Doctors are afraid that she might not make through surgery, but she continues to take chemotherapy.
On june 30th,2011 Carmen was sent in to the emergency room for extremely high blood pressure, severe headache and numbness on her whole left side of her body. Doctors immediately sent her in for cascan and a mri. Unfortunately the results were that her cancer had not only spread throughout her body but that now she had Metastatic brain tumors and has bleeding in the brain.
As many of you might know there is no cure for Metastatic brain tumors n prognosis for what is now stage four is not good. However, we remain hopefull that she will beat the odds and are grateful for everyday that we are given with her.
Carmen is a widow and a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 14. She is not able to work due to her recurances and treatment to fight this. Her youngest daughter Judith whom lives with her and her 2 kids is unemployed due to the fact that she is Carmens full time caretaker. Her insurance plan is very expensive and covers very little especially the hightech scans, test and medications needed to keep on top of this disease.
This long battle has drained their family both mentally and financially. Carmen is in the battle of her life right now and the mounting medical bills and prescriptions costs are a worry we would like to take away from her. We cante change this disease, but we can change how they fight it.
Thank you all for your donations, suppport and most importantly prayers. We definately believe in miracles and we pray for one each day.
God Bless You
