The family and friends of Dan Andritz are uniting to raise money for a Celebration of his life in June.

The family and friends of Dan Andritz are uniting to raise money for a celebration of his life. After many years of congestive heart failure, Danny passed away on October 31, 2011. He struggled for so many years with heart failure that his medical bills were very high. His family and friends would love to help Vi and Meg have a memorial for him next summer. Dan was known as a very generous man who would offer his home, take you to dinner or give you the shirt off his back. The people he loved during his lifetime want to give back to Dan and his family in the way he gave to others. We want to help Vi and Megan organize a memorial that Danny would of loved. He loved to celebrate so we want to give him the biggest celebration of his life by sharing a meal, stories, memories and fun times.

Megan wanted me to share these thoughts of her dad with you:
... "when they wanted to do a traechonemy on him... I told him that I could be pregnant and he said he would do anything to see his grandchild. He was always so positive, proud, and optimistic about life. He never once complained that he was suffering and thanked my mom every night for taking such good care of him. He always took wonderful care of us, so we were happy to help him. It's no wonder that his song was Somewhere Over the Rainbow because skies there are always blue and dreams come true. I think of him as my man of steel, ironically because he sold steel, but like the tinman he just needed some oil to get him going. Once he got going he was determined and a true fighter. He was the most lovable character not only in the Wizard of Oz, but in my life. He just needed a better heart."

Danny loved and helped so many of us in his lifetime, so now we think its time for us to show that same love to Dan, Meg and Vi.

The memorial will be a sports theme, since he loved sports and will take place at the end of June in Cleveland, Ohio.

We thank you so much, every little amount will help for his memorial and hopefully some extra for the medical bills!!!
