All contributions made to the loving memory of Ari will be used for supporting the causes that Ari was so passionate about.

Arindam (Ari) Bardhan (1979-2012, beloved son of Sukomal and Anjali Bardhan)

Ari sparkled with the intensity of the most brilliant star in the sky. Bereft ofsarcasm and cynicism, his huge smile, booming laughter, electrifying energy andimpeccable appearance were contagious and made him impossible to resist. His ability to coalesce with others was seen in his superhuman ability to draw people’s passions out. The positive energy developed from this process allowed barriers to disintegrate and the resulting gap filled with meaningful connections.

It was the same passion that sowed the seeds of a 13-year long relationship with the love of his life, his soul mate, his best friend and eventually his wife, Neha. When they first met, she was 18 and he was 19. Even at such a young age they spent their days in deep, endless conversations, which were really their quest to discover the universe together. In the process they found pure, selfless, immortal love. He was also a fierce protector of his brother Deb who he was immensely proud of and at the same time deeply inspired by.

Ari had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, as we all have experienced through his never-ending questions. Generally, thirst for learning stems from a want to know or a need to know. In Ari’s case, the want and the need were one. Never waiting for a second chance, he seized every moment on Earth. He thrived in the intellectual ecosystem of the best institutions of the world - Wharton Business School and McKinsey & Co. and later Novartis where his curiosity grew into a tremendous courage of conviction, which gave him unparalleled clarity on what really matters in life.

Always wanting to serve in health care, he was immensely proud of his current role in the Vaccines & Diagnostics Division of Novartis, as he felt he could play a direct role in mitigating human suffering and contribute towards preventive health. He celebrated humankind, the physical world and beyond - even able to find light in darkness.

We have lost an idealist, a volunteer for service to mankind, a caring family member and a friend. In his wake, allow his memory and spirit to seep into our veins, for then Ari will be free to live on - protecting and guiding us, continuing to manifest and intensify love and service to all.
